Yesterday, I was pleased to lead for the SNP in the Social Security (Up-Ratting of Benefits) Bill debate which is legislation to grant discretionary powers for one year so the UK Government can increase the basic state pension, the new state pension and the standard minimum guarantee in pension credit irrespective of the fall in average earnings as a result of COVID.
